As of Apr 20, and for the last week or so, there’s been no enigmail package in testing – the old version disappeared from the archive (and had broken with the current testing thunderbird) and no new version has appeared. debian release managers decided to remove the old enigmail temporarily from testing in order to let the new mozilla into testing. Since thunderbird was not ready, enigmail was removed. Tip: use apt-get upgrade, to not remove packages that are temporarily not available or use my preview archive to get the latest thunderbird enigmail versions for sarge. I was using aptitude and discovered something was wrong when a message I had intended to send encrypted was silently sent non-encrypted. After playing around with enigmail only to find that it silently failed to do anything at all, I looked at my package versions and discovered that my enigmail was older than my thunderbird. Since I had no way to take my thunderbird back, I just deleted enigmail. I’ll try your repository. Hmmm … sounds strange. How was your exact version combination (of thunderbird and enigmail), you can still recall this? |
