Just uploaded mozilla-thunderbird version 0.7-0.0.asac1
to the
unofficial archives – Noteworthy
changes include the newextension manager, multiple
identities per account and others.
For infos on general features added, read the
Thunderbirds official release notes
The bad side: The new extension manager made some troubles
when it came to provide a way to install extensions in a
debianized way.
It was somehow hard to find the needed changes,
but finally I came up with an at least
suitable solution. Read below for further infos on this.
- mozilla-thunderbird-dev package added – it contains
the development files for building native extensions for
thunderbird. The new enigmail source package (see below)
leverages this new -dev package to build enigmail outside
the mozilla-thunderbird source tree.
- Enigmail has now its own source package.
I uploaded the
mozilla-thunderbird-enigmail-2:0.84.1-0.asac3 package to the
unofficial archives. The source
packages name is now just enigmail.
You can install the binary package as usual by
apt-get install mozilla-thunderbird-enigmail.
In future it might make sense to produce the mozilla
binaries from the same source package as thunderbird.
This should at least be possible now!
- Extension/Locale Package maintainers – Please read:
Update your Contents.rdf and test your packages now and provide me with
feedback.
Thanks!
- Dutch language pack for 0.7 uploaded – A reference
package for locales. The german language support will come soon.
Upstream promissed to release next weekend.
