OK, I’ve always wanted to know, and this seems like the perfect time to ask: Every upgrade bears the risk to break something and while the risk to break things by extension upgrades might be acceptable for a private user its probably not in corporate environments. But even private users that care more about productivity than using the latest might prefer to use a stable release. further, providing packages is a good thing if you want to provide extensions for all users of a system. |
