Mar 27 2005:

• thunderbird 1.0.2 is out. The package is available from my preview archive and will be soon in unstable too. This release fixes some vulnerabilities. Get it now!
• uploaded enigmail (0.90.2-1). This is a mere bugfix release and is again available for mozilla suite and thunderbird.
• My locale packages are coming soon too ... so stay tuned.

Feb 12 2005:

• new enigmail packages uploaded to my preview archive. Version 0.90.1 is a mere bugfix release. Consult the upstream announcement for more details.

Jan 17 2005:

• Uploaded some packages to sid. The packages uploaded today include: mozilla-thunderbird (1.0-3), enigmail (0.90.0-1) and the suitable german and dutch locales for thunderbird. enigmail 0.90.0-1 includes the build target for mozilla-enigmail, so mailnews users won't depend on the experimental package anymore.
• FWIW, I decided to upload thunderbird 1.0, because I think it helps noone to wait with the next upload until the pending trademark issues are resolved.

Jan 16 2005:

• First upload day in 2005. Just finished my thesis so I can finally start working on my packages again.
• To start with, I uploaded enigmail v.0.90.0 to my preview archive. This release adds further features to the new key management console of enigmail. For a more detailed changelog look here.
• Pushed german langpack for new enigmail version. you can install it from my preview archive by selecting the enigmail-thunderbird-locale-de package.
• In addition I want to give a short hint on a common question: When will thunderbird 1.0 enter sid? I am sorry, but today I can't tell. The problem is not a technical, but a political one. Look the wishlist bug for thunderbird 1.0 to get more detailed infos.
• Dutch language pack for thunderbird 1.0 uploaded.
• As always - feedback is welcome.

Dec 19 2004:

• Uploaded a second revision of thunderbird 1.0 that fixes some minor glitches by including the latest extension manager patches.
• new upstream release of enigmail pushed; get version 0.89.6 now for mozilla-mailnews and mozilla-thunderbird
• The latest enigmail package includes a fix for a thunderbird related bug, that disabled enigmail on first startup with a fresh profile.

Dec 9 2004:

• Hi, good news for most of you: Today is release day for all my preview archive users; I am currently pushing a new release round to my archive. New stuff includes:
  1. Thunderbird 1.0
  2. Enigmail 0.89.5 for Mozilla-Mailnews and Thunderbird
  3. German mozilla-thunderbird translation
  4. German enigmail translation for thunderbird (enigmail-thunderbird-locale-de)
• Dutch translation not yet ready. Sorry!

Nov 24 2004:

• I uploaded thunderbird 0.9-6 to debian unstable and released my new testing release to my preview archive. This release features a new browser integration debconf mechanism during the first installation to allow choose what kind of browser integration is wanted. A dpkg-reconfigure mozilla-thunderbird will allow you to change your settings afterwards.
  Currently available Browser integration mechanisms are Debian, GNOME, Manual. See this FAQ entry for more info about this.
• updated my FAQ and moved the Old FAQ away.

Nov 19 2004:

• Just uploaded thunderbird 0.9 and enigmail 0.89.0 to sid - the revision 0.9-5 is well tested. See the changelog to get detailed infos on the changes done bugs closed by this upload.
• Debian Sarge users can still use my people.debian.org repository to get the latest thunderbird package. I will do my best to keep that version in sync with the one in unstable.

Nov 10 2004:

• mozilla-thunderbird v0.9 is available - Thanks to Mike Hommey that made this release possible. Get the preview release from my site.
• If you have a bug open in the debian BTS, please verify if those issues are still present in this release and drop a note to your bug report.
• mozilla-thunderbird-enigmail v0.89 available - This enigmail release has lots of new features, including a new key management frontend. Have fun with it! Note: Though the mozilla-enigmail package is versioned 0.89.0-1, the real version for the enigmail mailnews package is still 0.86.1. The reasons is that 0.89.0 is not yet compatible with mozilla mailnews. So don't bother about this.

Oct 19 2004:

• mozilla-enigmail-0.86.1 available for mozilla-mailnews 1.7.3 - Finally mozilla 1.7.3 made it to debian sarge archives. In consequence I have uploaded a respin of the debian enigmail package to my sarge package repository. Upgrade or install enigmail to your mozilla mailnews suite!

Sep 20 2004:

• STATUS UPDATE - during the last days I worked quite a bit to get my thunderbird related packages in good shape and up to date. Finally I am ready (hopefully)! Latest stuff is:
  • mozilla-thunderbird 0.8-2 - fixes a severe upgrade path bug.
  • mozilla-thunderbird-locale-de 0.8-1 - new german locale package
  • mozilla-thunderbird-locale-nl 0.8-1 - new dutch locale package
  • mozilla-thunderbird-enigmail 0.86.1-1 - new enigmail upstream package for for thunderbird. Note: My unofficial archive has a built for mozilla 1.6 (currently in testing). But be aware that mozilla-enigmail might not work with that version of mozilla. I will respin this package as soon as mozilla 1.7.1 enters testing
