Locales are selected as followed: The locale is taken
from the environment of the mozilla-thunderbird process.
If no locale is found matching,
the default locale is used (currently en-US).
To set the locale to german, install the german language
package (mozilla-thunderbird-locale-de-de) &
start mozilla-thunderbird with the LANG environment variable
set to 'de'. This is not necessary if your debian system is
configured with de the default locale. To set the environment
to german do this:
# export LANG=de
# mozilla-thunderbirdAvailable localization packages fully integrated in debian are listed below.
mozilla-thunderbird-locale-ca - Catalan, mozilla-thunderbird-locale-de - German, mozilla-thunderbird-locale-es - Spanish, mozilla-thunderbird-locale-fr - French, mozilla-thunderbird-locale-gl - Galician, mozilla-thunderbird-locale-nl - Dutch, mozilla-thunderbird-locale-uk - Ukrainian
enigmail-thunderbird-locale-de - German
